BROKEN CRYSTAL

Sometimes precious crystal shatters
you can't find every part...
you glue it back together
but you have lost a little heart.

In the process of the gluing
the piece can't look the same;
depending on importance
it's like a fire without a flame.

At last, you think: just throw it out
the thing cannot be mended
But then it means the beauty
of the piece has simply ended.

I can't do that, and so I turn
the part that has a hole
toward the wall so none can see
the thing I can't make whole.
