Army Mom’s Safe Haven

A REPLY TO A LATE NITE POEM

I, too, am alone, at night,
and lonely –
and sometimes
scared…..
but I think to the
future
and possibilities of
“might” and “may”
Hopefully, if I
survive the lonely
night –
the sun will shine
next day…
and I can write a poem,
or take a picture
of a dog on ice
or a cardinal in the snow.
This is how I deal
with loneliness
which has always lived
in me – it’s the only way I know.
