Christina: Damsel in Distress

Always thought the title of this poem
was a little dramatic and old-fashioned
I'm too old to be a damsel but not too old
to feel distress; and to have love rationed -
So I'm a Damsel in Distress
and I've been there before
God, I'm so tired of it
Don't want to be a damsel anymore.
I still have dreams...
Please, someone, sweep me up, and hold me close
and tell me it's all right
and I will answer with such a kiss
you'll have no dreams tonight.
