Army Mom’s Safe Haven

OF MOURNFUL CRIES

Mournful
cries
reach to the skies

Sobs turn into
sighs
and turn
back into
mournful cries

and the
sky turns
slate gray

on this, a
shadowy
lonely day.

Wait long
enough
Wait just
a little while

and the world
will turn
and the sun
will burn
the rain away –

Can you wait?
Wait just long
enough
Wait just a little while

and the human soul
will dry your tears
and make you smile…… …

there’s nothing
wrong with that
there’s nothing
disloyal
about returning
to Life –
to living……

We are left.
We are bereft.
It’s for the strong
to carry on.

When the wind
sings her
mournful song
hang on.
Hang on tight.
Wait for dawn,
for daylight.

You’re not alone.
Never alone.
Do not fear.
Remember –
I
am
here.
