ADESTE FIDELIS
(Original Latin title meaning, more or less, ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’)

Semper Fi
Fidelity
We sing Adeste Fidelis,
you and me –

At the Christmas season –
The faithful singing
Church bells ringing
Come and worship
Here’s the reason:

Paying homage
to Christ the King…
Come, ye Faithful
and ever true

We sing the song
me and you

Here at home
and overseas
Faithful gather
near green trees

and sing His praises
in measured phrases

and pray for Peace
in war-torn places;
earnest soldiers
with camo-ed faces

pointing rifles toward
the ground
several of them
gather ‘round

Faithful to God
and their Country
our young ones serve
for you and me

Our care and faith
they each deserve.

Pray for our men and women at war
Christ is listening from above;
Faithful to those who die for us
Grace them with His heavenly love.
