Army Mom’s Safe Haven

(For the Missing)

Don't think of him
dying in the leaves -
all alone
Think of arms
reaching out
to welcome him home.
Mother Nature's strong arms
clasp him close to her heart -
he is resting
he is nestling -
not alone, or apart.
His battle is over,
all suffering is done.
One Mother shares
with the Other, her son.
One journey completed -
another begun.
