Army Mom’s Safe Haven

THE FINAL MISSION

This was his Final Mission -
this visit to the Wall.
He really didn't want to come
he didn't want to face them all.

And yet, he's here, and he
has put his demons in their place;
he has paid one final tribute -
he has seen reflections of his face

in a panel, black and mute -
and now it's time to go.
He had so many questions
but he has begun to know
that he carries them within him
that's why he must go on.
For as long as they're remembered
they are never really gone.
